Celebrity accessory

I am appalled with the new must have celebrity accessory - a little dog.

Britney has been pictured with her 'little pooch', Peter Andre has bought Jordan one for Christmas - called baby and I have read that there is an unofficial competition in the world of celebrity about who has the smallest dog.

I am so appalled, but sadly not surprised, at the stupidity displayed by such people. They must realise that lots of young people will suddenly want to copy them and strut around with their designer dog in a designer bag.

What is their motivation? love of animals, companionship, sport, hobby - NO, IT'S VANITY!

It makes me sick.

If youre right about their reasons to gets these dogs, I find it appalling too

But could a reason be, that a smell dog is easier to travel with?
Maybe I´m naive (..it wouldnt be the first time ), but how do you know?

I agree with you, what happens to the dogs when the novelty has worn off.

Amts - the rest of us manage to travel with our dogs without putting them in a bag - don't we? (well I do anyway)

It is awful, they all get the dogs at the same time, it's obviously not just for a companion/pet.

I´m not aware of how many celeb got dogs at the same time.
Just thought if I was travelling 200 days a year it would be a lot easier with a small dog than my lab...

What sort of a life will these poor dogs have stuck in a bag being terrified by people taking pics of the celebs and trailed all over the place
If these celebs wanted a dog to take around with them they can surely afford a large car for them

Tut tut tut! Whatever made you believe that people like Britney and Andre can actually think? As far as I can see, Britney is possibly thicker than anything her dog could produce, and this Andre fellow seems to have on his side only the ability to impress pre-pubescent little girls - not one of these people is a an Einstein and they are aware only of themselves - not the effect they are going to have on their deluded fans!

Celebrity status used only to be accorded to somebody who was actually good at something, and not an end in itself.

Unfortunately, there will be idiots who will try to copy the actions of the latest "here today, gone tomorrow" dimwits, for as long as we (as a society) go along with this false idea of celebrity. We live in the era of the glorification of the cheap and nasty!
