Ruby Update! + question

Hi all

Ruby is feeling MUCH better, her poo is getting better, not quite there yet but well on the way, she's a lot happier and not only wags her tail when she see's you but her whole bum

Only problem i have now is keeping them apart untill she is spayed next month, especially now she can jump the gate!

I am having to let them sleep with me so i can keep an eye on them. Not ideal as neither are little and i am not getting much sleep but what else can i do? if i shut her away behind a closed door she howls the place down!!

My question is.....

Is there still a risk at this stage or would they now be ok together? she is on day 28 of her cycle now, could she still get pregnant?

We tried the crate when she first came home but she screamed constantly, so loud i had the neighbours "mention" it to me

Just did a google search and it says most seasons last for 21 days but you have to take into account all dogs are different.
It also says there most fertile times are day 7 and day 15 but again dogs do differ.HTH.
I am sure someone with a lot more knowledge will be along shortly.

How is Diesel reacting to her? You wont need to keep her separated from him for the whole time until she's spayed. If he isn't showing too much interest then keep them together. She is very late in her season, although pups are still possible, but mine go back together quite quickly after the girls are done.

Thanks Becky, D takes no notice of her really, shes far more fascinated by him than he is of her. If she sits too close he will move as i dont think he's too sure how close she will let him get
