RYAN - 2yo - MALE GREYHOUND

Meet Ryan the cuddle monster, a beautiful black boy with a smart white bib and beautiful eyes. Ryan is just 2 years old and measures approximately 28" to the shoulder. Ryan found himself abandoned and in a pound situation and would have been PTS without a safe rescue space. He would now dearly love to find his forever family so please don't delay and apply today if he sounds like the boy for you!

Location: Currently in kennels in Suffolk. Ryan would benefit hugely by living in a foster home while he waits for his forever home.
Key Points: Young, friendly, confident, likes children, affectionate, fond of people and very CUDDLY, can be dominant and grumpy with other male dogs but very good with females. Good both on the lead and in car.

~ Personality ~
Ryan is a very sweet young lad who has oodles of potential to be a fabulous family member. He is a really cuddly and clever boy who will respond very well to basic training with the aid of treats.

~ In the Home ~
Sadly Ryan hasn't yet experienced being in a home environment but is trying hard to be clean in his kennel, he is very bright so will respond well to basic training and learning the ‘boundaries’ in a home environment. It generally takes hounds 10-14 days to start to settle in a home, and really all they need is time and patience.

~ Other Animals ~
Ryan can behave a little like a grumpy teenager around other boys but is very good around female dogs. Ongoing training and a dog savvy family will not find this issue much of a problem and we have our own behaviourist to help out if needed. Ryan hasn't had much contact around small dogs.

~ Out and About ~
Ryan loves his walks and is good both on the lead and in the car. We would recommend Ryan wearing a muzzle when out in public just to be on the safe side around small dogs and other boisterous boys. Like most greyhounds Ryan will not need a huge amount of exercise. He will be content with two 30+ minute walks and some garden play time each day and perhaps a chance to stretch his legs off lead in a safe area away from public roads and livestock once or twice a week.

~ Greyhounds as Pets ~
In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family environment, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the retired. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.

~ Where Can I Live? ~
We feel Cole would be happiest in a fairly active family as he is only young and as an only dog or with very quiet and gentle female companion. He can be homed anywhere in the UK provided we have a home checker available, but please note that you will be required to travel to Norfolk to meet and collect him. Please also note we do NOT home dogs to families with children under the age of 8 years.

~ Where Am I? ~
Ryan is currently in kennels in Suffolk. Ryan would benefit so very much from a chance to live in a foster home and Kerry Greyhounds UK is always eager for new foster volunteers. It is an extremely rewarding experience and costs are covered by us.

~ Want To Adopt Me? ~
Ryan will be neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, deflead and wormed and a home check will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

If you are interested in adopting Ryan, please contact me (Bronwen) via email: bronwen@kerrygreyhounds.co.uk, or you can speak to me directly by phoning: 075 000 62648.

Ryan is sadly still looking for his forever home. This lovely boy is just crying out for a family to love, please give his above profile a read to see if he’s right for you. It has recently been updated.
