Mitt Romney Admits Family Dog Rode on the Roof of His Car for 12-Hour Trip

Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney might have his hands full with PETA and other animal lovers after events involving his family dog from over 20 years ago resurfaced.

Apparently, Romney took his family dog, an Irish Setter named Seamus, on a 12-hour car trip in 1983 tied to the roof of his car in what is being dubbed the "Mitt Romney dog on roof" incident.

"on a 12-hour car trip in 1983 tied to the roof of his car"

My rural satellite service is too slow to play youtube.

Could someone please elaborate, because I am having trouble believing this as it has been stated. It sounds like the usual kind of media exaggeration when they are on a personal attack. I'm not American and don't have a stake in that political game so that is not where I'm coming from; I just really hate exaggerated or fantastically embellished stories, and I especially hate garbage media attacks on politicians or celebrities.

There must have been a cage or crate involved at least.

Just thinking on that in 1980 I travelled in the back of a pickup for 15 or so hours to Vancouver from North of Edmonton, Alberta. It wasn't a bad experience and I got where I wanted to go. As an adult - hitch hiking - it was my decision to do so, however.

So how is that different than being kenneled in the back of a truck, as many dogs still travel?

Or being shipped in a plane, for that manner?

I'm sure if there was a kennel made for the roof of a car it would be wind shielded.

LOL to the above.

I am sure with his money he could have afforded a bit better. Maybe they should have taken both of his wife's cadillacs so they had more room.

This is just another reason why obama will win the election without needing to campaign properly. The Republican party are making gaff after gaff after gaff.
