Hair Straighteners...

Well folks,

I've had my hair done today and for the first time I've had it straightened. It's in a short bob and with the colour it looks fab. Now I need a decent straighteners though. Any recommendations...avoiding the expensive GHD ones. Something mid price rang would be good. Don't know how long i'll last straightening it so don't want to spend a fortune.

Thanks guys.
xx

There really is no substitute for GHDs, IMO. I tried several cheaper brands because I balked at price the of GHDs. None came anywhere close and it was very much a false economy - I could have bought 2 or 3 GHDs with what I spent trying to find a decent alternative

Having said that, the next best ones I tried were by 'Hair Tools' and looked very like GHDs but the results were nowhere near as good.

Ok i'd always say GHD, can't fault them, but there's some cheaper ones CHS and they are brilliant too. I have both but my CHS on the way out.

Whats GHD? I have very thick curly hair (the original white afro) and would love to be able to straighten it well, the cheap ones don't make any difference!

Good Hair Day brand of straighteners. They are. the ones which salons often use. Very high temp, with solid plates etc.....No substitution

The hairdresser told me yesterday, I'd be ok with anything that got hotter than 200 degrees. They don't use GHD in the salon. May just see what's available when I'm out today.

I got some Tresemme straightners from supadrugs -they heat to 200 deg have solid ceramic plates and work a treat ( and they were half price -reduced to £30 )

Right, even hairdressers have trouble straightening my hair but if I could do it regularly it would be something but looks like a tad out of my finances at the moment!

I've had 3 sets of straighteners but you can't beat the Remington 'wet to straight' wide plates. They are fab! Don't forget to use a heat protector for your hair, TRESemme does the job and leaves your hair silky soft
