I'm so sorry to read that Fingal has gone..what a lovely dog he was. Glad that Skye is coping, and can help you to cope with such a massive loss.

Phil I am so sorry for your sudden loss of such a lovely old boy. I used to love seeing your photos of him.
My thoughts are with you all.

So very sorry Phil. Fingal was such a character, I enjoyed reading about his escapades and seeing his pictures. Sweet dreams Fingal.x

I very rarely come on Dogsey - but saw this post and just wanted to add my condolences, I'm very sorry to learn of your loss. What a wonderful dog he must have been.

Thanks again folks for the last messages.

I'm at that odd stage just now where I'm past the sad bit but now and again (having got Skye and Breagh in from outside) still wait for Fingal before I remember he's gone.

It's been so long since I last lost a dog (16 years or so) but it's all very familiar - on the one hand you turn around expecting them to be there and know exactly how they feel or smell - but on the other hand (despite only being being a week or so) it feels like a million years since you last saw them.

It's very strange but I feel pretty good about it on the whole.

I was going to say how sorry I was but in one respect it would be false because the greatest gift we can give to any animal under our care is knowing when the time is right to part. And therefore....I will say .........he had a happy life.
