Taking bitch for walks

Hi

I just wondered what peoples opinions were on taking your bitch for walks after she has whelped. My bitch is four weeks post whelping and she is desperate to go out for a walk, obviously I am aware of the risk of her bringing back an infection and giving it to the pups.

I just wondered what everyone else did with regards to excercising their bitch 4 weeks post whelping?
