Annual Booster

I took Blue out for a bike ride this afternoon (me riding, him running )
And nearly fell of in panic!!! I should of took Bess to have her booster last friday but forgot. She goes to her normal vets in Coventry as her jabs are paid for life. Mine go to Avonvale in Southam and i get reminders in the post. I'm so in routine with the other 3, but i can't believe i forgot Bess
Will she have to have another course or will she be ok just to have the booster if i take her hopefully monday?
Not sure on the time limit you can leave it
Thanks

Awww Jules try not to worry I'm sure it's okay for about 3 months, a few days doesn't matter at all. Hugs, it's awful when you panic about your dog. I'm sure it will be more than okay!

I'm sure she will be fine. Some vaccine manufacturers cover their vaccines for three years so - as was the case with my dog - you don't always need to provide boosters for ALL diseases every year. For example, Intervet do this.

I don't booster annually anyway so I wouldn't worry!

My vet prefers to wait a few months past the year, and as is the norm he alternates full and part vaccs every other booster. He is also very happy for people to titre rather than just booster for the sake of it. Mine get boosters or titres every 15 months and he fully supports that regime.

Thanks for your replys.
I honestly thought they had to have there boosters at the same time every year or they had to start a new course.
Really glad i raised this question.
Thankyou

My JR was due her 4th "annual" booster in Feb. I have chosen to leave it for a few months.Been doing lots of reading on this and its questionable as to whether the yearly jab is really necessary.

There have been some very interesting discussions on the subject of yearly vaccinations on Dogsey - if you do a search on boosters or vaccination you should find some informative information.

This rule normally applies to the rabies vaccinations required for a pet passport, but not necessarily for the annual booster vaccinations

Each vet will have a slightly different policy or opinion, but you would certainly be ok for a few months at least. After that it depends on the indivdual vet as to what they recommend. Have a search on Dogsey for posts on annual vaccinations
