Possible eye problem ??

Took my 6 yr male sibe to vet as been having green gunk coming from his right eye occasionally, inside top lid area of eye red, slightly inflammed too. vet said when she looked into his eye she saw an area that was darker , quite localised too , she wasnt sure what it was but he has antibiotic ointment and got to go back after 10 days if no better, may need to see an opthamologist if it dosen't improve, anyone have any idea what this darker area could be ??

Green gunk sounds like conjunctivitis Rose.

A natural treatment is cleaning with saline water on a clean tissue or disposal kitchen towel outwards (towards the ears) a few times a day - being careful not to cross-contaminate by using the same tissue each side.

You will also want to wash bedding as it is highly contagious.

Not sure what the darker area is tbh :/

Hi Rose, the darker area could be caused by a number of things, it could be something or nothing so maybe best not to speculate.

I hope the eye is better soon

Thanx everyone, i thought it may be conjunctivitis with the green colour, the ointment is to go in for 10 days so will see how it is then but she wanted to keep a check on it when the ointment finishes to make sure nothing nasty is happening to the eye as the dark area was on the cornea .
