Green lipped mussel may help. It did my old boy when his arthritis took hold

If he is having trouble with his balance, then there is more going on than arthritis. Imbalance in the hindquarter, called ataxia, is usually due to a neurological problem which could explain the failure to respond to drugs for pain and inflammation. If this is the case, might want to get a second opinion, perhaps an alternative vet who might offer acupuncture which works well for both neurological function and arthritis. Good luck.

Try checking with your vet to see if there are any certain medicines that will help with your dogs joint pain. You could also try switching foods to or trying different supplements that would help with the arthritis as well. A good orthopedic bed can be really helpful for your dog as well. (This is all speaking from experience)
