Lee Child.Jack Reacher novels /Now a film with tom cruise

Does anyone read the Jack Reacher books by Lee Child .?

What do you think about Tom Cruise playing the role of a 6 ft 5 man with a 50 inch chest ...lol

OMG! that's just soooo wrong

No!!!! i love the jack reacher books, and there is no way tom cruise can pull it off. in my head he's like a young hulk hogan

I've never really liked Jack Reacher, don't know why... but definitely think that if you've read the books then TC won't fit the bill for you. I was wondering who would but can't really think of any current actors they all seem a bit 'boyish' but I think that's me showing my age probably. Years ago maybe James Coburn.........???

Mmmmm got to admit not a fan of Lee Childs. Spent the first 50 pages of the first one I read under the impression it was set in Germany. Kind of sums it up. He makes it on to the list of books I couldn't be bothered finishing.

As Mr Reacher's characteristics seem to be he's big/ taciturn has never discovered how to work a washing machine Mr Cruise seems to fall short (snigger). I suppose there's the cardboard factor going for him.





Now Elvis Cole.... Why didn't he make it onto screen when Clooney was young enough?

Not a bit like the character in the books. Don't know if anyone reads Patricia Cornwall books but saw an interview with her on Breakfast TV apparently her main Character Scarpetta who is blonde and in her 40's is going to be played by Angelina Jolie.
I suppose we all get an image of character but Tom Cruise is soooo wrong for the role.

I find him a little creepy too - I especially didn't like how horrible he was to someone who splashed water on him once while pretending to interview him
