Alternative Therapy Books for Dogs

I saw a couple of Alternative therapy books in a book shop yesterday, as I've been looking into this, but I want to make sure anything I consider isn't harmful. I can't remember the authors, so don't know which ones are any good and which ones are just produced to fill shelves.

Does anyone have any good recommendations of AT books from reputable authors or ones they have found to be very good etc ?

Thanks

I take weekly acupuncture and use some H medication.

I spoke with my acupuncturesse about alternative treating dogs, some time ago, and she says it is possible, but not practical. I is very hard to get the real diagnosis right and it takes a long time. Plus - the getting worse before better bit - turns a lot of people off when it happens.
Of course she treats her own dogs.
This is my recollection of the conversation, and I am not able to expand or support any of this if challenged.
My point is that she does not think highly of the abundance of popular litterature available.
