Is she in pain?

hi,
I have an 8 year old GSD, who is also epileptic, she is on medication and doing ok with it for the last 6 years.

Today she is very clingy, normaly she is quite laid back, and just plods on her walks out. today she has been really persistant, panting, ( it's not that hot here), staying real close to me and jumping up at the door if I go anywhere.

This is not like her at all!

I'm tying to get an appointment at my vets, but they are still engaged at the moment, so whilst I'm waiting I thoght I'd ask for some opinions on here.

Many thanks,

Sounds like my Selkie...

http://www.dogsey.com/showthread.php?t=91433

sounds like there is something wrong... Makes you feel like a neurotic owner doesn't it, but we know our dogs and you know when they're having an off day, or when it may be more serious.

Keep phoning the vets. I have an appointment for Selkie at 5.10 today ...

I know what you are going through, stay in touch... I'll watch this thread. Hugs xxx

Sounds as though something is worrying her, thats how my GSD acts if I leave her & since I left her with a dog sitter over the weekend she's doing it now if I leave her in one room & go to another. Its a sign of anxiety according to the vet. Perhaps she feels different & is worried about an epileptic attack. Hope the vet gets it sorted.

She certainly sounds not her usual self - I can sympathis totally as I had an epileptic GSD for many years and know how stressful it is - does she ever show pre seizure signs? Has she perhaps had one you missed?

Hugs, I have a dog that has seizures but I found out his were caused by food alergies and when it gets too hot.

I can send her Reiki if you would like me to, please put a picture up of her if you want Reiki.

Don't want to 'hijack' the thread, but if you could send Reiki healing to my Selkie, I know she's appreciate it

It's her back legs and hips that are bothering her, if you look closely even at this pretty picture there is a tenseness to her back toes trying to hold the sit.

Hi Mattie,
Thanks here she is, Kira, taken a few weeks ago.

Thanks Muddiwarx and GSD-Sue,
No, I haven't missed a seizure, 99% of them are at night, ( and she sleeps in the room with me), and she doesn't act like this before or after.

Poor girl,

Glad to read you have an appointment for later today, but if you are at all concerned I would take her in earlier. It sounds like she is anxious to me. My GSD gets a bit clingy when worried about something.

I hope everything goes okay at the vets.
