The crates look far too small as well.

I actually dont think they were too small to travel. I do however, think the way in which they were transported was less than ideal. All dogs look in very good condition.

Reminds me of the Newfie case, at least someone contacted the police before they started the journey. How can anyone think that moving dogs in this weather in that manner, they could have moved some of them up to a nearby kennels or drove at night.

yes the dogs do look in good condition. but i thought crate guidelines were it had to be big enough for the dog to stand up in an turn around?

For travelling Id rather have a dog in a smaller space than be able to be banged around in a larger space. More harm can be done to them that way. If its only a few hours I cant see the problem personally.

As Dawn said.

It's probably better they couldn't get thrown around during the journey, and if they were exercised regularly as it was said was intended, they would be fine? Not sure about the temperatures though - and of course the vehicle could have been better...

Actually, looking at the pics again, maybe a tiny bit bigger would have been better.

I think being able to stand up or sit without having to crouch is a must. Travelling or not.

Wonder how many Danes, Bernards, newfies and other large breeds can do that in the back of an estate?
