Very Upset.

On our walk this morning I came across a cat toying with a mouse. The cat ran away but the mouse was in a bad way and I had to put it out of its misery.

I've never had to do that before, never thought I'd be capable of it, and it's upset me loads. I can't get the picture of it out of my head.

I know how you feel, Linda. I had to do this with a badly injured sparrow many years ago, and I still remember it so clearly.

Hugs honey - you're one of life's good people xxx

Have had cats all my life and have saved lots of little creatures and set them free again, knowing that they will die of fright. I probably should have done what you did but could never bring myself to, be proud you though more of it than yourself x

It's really sad - I don't like it either.

Takoda caught a baby rabbit not so long ago, he was looking down a rabbit hole and just plucked it out...

He let it go and it was still alive but couldn't move - so I told him to finish the job - I wish he would have in the first place but he actually tries to be gentle with them - like he only wants to carry it around as a friend rather then kill it. He seems quite stressful when he 'realises'.

So anyway he did pick it up again - just to walk a few steps and gently put it down again - trouble is, it was in the middle of a deep puddle so the poor thing was gonna drown - I felt so upset by this time then we had to scoop the poor mite out and was going to help it on it's way when a group of ppl came along so we had to lay it down out of sight and wait for them to leave - and then finally do what we had to - I felt horrible
