You could have a look round sites like Preloved or Pets4Homes
Many hobby breeders (as well as rehomers) advertise on there and can be absolutely lovely animals

Theres an animal rescue called "Furry Friends animal rescue" I think they've got some young rats needing homes.

Sometimes pet shops or vets have cards advertising baby rats for sale - ideally you want to get them from someone who breeds small scale and is able to handle them well. Having said that, my Wilfred, Mavis, Edna and Vera all came from pet shops and were wonderful - I used to walk about with them on my shoulders or head most of the time. I actually found my last rat, Gonzo, on a dog walk! Whether he was lost or someone dumped him, I don't know, but he must have been well handled because he was very tame.

If you can find any which need rehoming, all the better!

Good luck, look forward to hearing what happens.

Check out the breeders list from the NFRS - not many in our area, I know Laura (Stovokor) has babies at the moment though.

They are very cute. I used to fancy rats as pets - thinking they were more intelligent than hamsters and guinea pigs. Until I found out that despite what is said about them being very clean on account of constantly washing themselves and not leaving puddles of pee - they have no sphincter muscles(?) not sure if that is true but that they do definitely constantly "leak" urine.
