My boy is very ill!

As above, as I write Bandit is on a drip at the vets, he is extremely poorly... a short history.

Some of you may know Bandit is a sock eater... and Monday morning when I got up all the signs were there of him eating socks, bile in his bed and refusing breaker.

This usually then goes he at some point in the day sick it up, and he will then eat as normal

But no this time, he has refused food since Mon, and not sure how long but at least 24 hrs has not had any water.

Yesterday afternoon, started to get concerned, this was more than the norm for him..so tried to tempt him with chicken at tea time... he refused it, on that I phoned the vet... we got in at 6. 30 and got home at 8,30

Vet did some x.rays to see if he can see any blockage, but it just shows pockets of gas..still cant rule out a blockage yet.

So I brought him home (he had pain relief and anti sickness ) to see him over the night, (vet wanted to keep him in )

We have had a bad night, he is totally disoriented, he is so weak he cant support his weight and keeps falling over...

So back at vets first thing, he has kept him in, he needs to get some fluids in him, they are about to run some more tests, and do some more xrays , to see if the gas has moved, or got worse, depending on all this will determine whether they have to open him up.....told them that must be a last resort.

So he has either a nasty gastric bug/ a blockage or something more sinister.

He is losing blood from his behind, he keeps straining to got to the toilet, but that could be due to inflammation of the intestines....lets hope so.

So a little Dogsey vibes would go down well for my old man.

He looks so poorly its worrying.

So sorry to hear about Bandit, I hope they can find the cause and sort it quickly. It sounds like my Tarn was some weeks ago, painful tummy, sick all night, on a drip, but thankfully made a full recovery, I hope its the same for Bandit.
