My girls are tiny. The cage seems quite big compared to them I guess. hnjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj jb nmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. (cat walked over my laptop...) I put boxes and tubes in and change them regularly. And if I have one the girls haven't chewed up a hammock. I don't put in the ladder- it makes the cage look smaller. I also have another self in there for them. It is hard juggling animals that don't get on. I live with my parents so I have my bedroom for the rats to be in alone.

Mine love their boxes, tubes, pockets and toilet paper(!). They also have a plastic container with water so they can take baths which they love
I took the lower ladder out and put a wooden one in that I can move around.. They've got enough space for their size now but I'd like to give them more cos I don't like them having to be in a cage in the first place..

yeah, I do prefer mine out too. Lol, if I put a water bowl in their cage my bed would be soaked by the end of the day! I use parrot toys to keep them entertained. They like making the cage just the way they want it- they will rearrange the whole thing! do yours do that?

The photos are gorgeous and what adorable photos. I adore rats but have never had them. I had lots of mice, hamsters and guinea pigs but not rats. Maybe one day when I'm too old to walk dogs I will.
