My lovely Cherry, 29/01/2001-19/07/2011.

Will always remember your devotion and intelligence and your very naughty ways at times!

Sadly missed by Stephanie, Jamie and Parker.

Seen here with your little Scottie friend Hamish. I think he was your favourite dog friend as he was very naughty too!

To everyone - family, friends and animals that I've lost.

Most recently, my father-in-law, who sadly passed away not quite two weeks ago.
RIP Tom, playing chess with the angels.

Having now lost all family apart from those of my own generation and younger, and even some of my own generation have now gone, I have one of these permanently plugged in - the light actually flickers as if it was a real candle.

I also keep the Sepharadi customs of lighting a Yartzheit memorial candle every Friday before I light my Sabbath candles, as well as one on the anniversary of the passing of each one.

There are three other occasions when a Yartzheit candle is lit - two are Memorial Days specific to where I live, the other is on Yom HaKippurim - The Day of Atonement.

Each time I strike a match to light a candle I stop and think of those who are no longer with me before saying the appropriate prayer.

It is not just habit - it is memory - it is respect - and most of all it is love.

May all those who have gone before us, be they two-legged or four-legged, may they be in peace. Today, tomorrow, and always.

None of us will ever forget you, and may your memory be for a blessing.

Keith, my baby cat, who was with us such a short time.

Marjorie, my work colleague and friend, who died very suddenly on 5th December.

My dad, my grandma, my good friend Mick and my first love Rob. Kevin and Colin cats.

May you all rest in peace.

What a lovely thought Claire.

Hugs to everyone who is missing someone, especially those for who this will be the first Christmas without that special somebody.
