Bill - Border collie

Bill is a gorgeous 2-year old border collie - as lovely in temperament as he is in looks.
He was bred as a working farm dog but unfortunately it didn't work out. Whereas he will round up a flock of sheep and watch over them , he cannot resist chasing any stray ones.
As Bill has lived outside , he has not been house-trained but being a young intelligent dog it shouldn't take long to remedy this. He's extremely obedient , as you would expect from a working dog , walks well on the lead and responds to recall off the lead. He likes balls and sticks.
He's used to other dogs , cats and children and is friendly with all. He needs a new owner who can give him lots of exercise

Poor boy - I hope he finds a home really soon. From the description it actually sounds as though he just needs further stock training to make him into a useful working dog though.

Do you ever rehome collies to working homes?

I believe dogs have been rehomed to working homes in the past, however we do not have a policy in place at the moment against this. (the charity may adopt this policy in the future, although I suspect it would be more for lurchers being used for lamping etc).

Our main concern is always for the health and welfare of the dog and animals.

Brilliant news. Please keep us updated on Bill's progress, if possible.
