My dog has an enlarged teat, should I be concerned?

One of the teats on my yorkiepoo is larger than the others. I saw it a while ago but I wasn't really concerned sense she didn't seemed to be bothered by it. I recently gave her a close cut hair cut and noticed it has gotten even larger. It looks swelled up. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? She is 2 years old, never has had puppies, and isn't fixed. It doesn't feel like a tumor, and it isn't seeping at all. Any input would be appreciated.

From the discoloration, I'd think it was a tumor... or perhaps an infection setting in. Especially since she isn't spayed, I think you should have it checked by a vet. Doesn't look normal to me at all.

Also, and this isn't that relevant to the thread, but the haircut looks too close to the skin in some places IMO. I have heard that scraping the skin can irritate the dog.

Doesn't look good to me, I think a vet visit is called for. Could you have got a bit too close with those clippers/scissors in the past and inadvertently clipped that nipple, thereby causing it to get infected. I don't like the black underneath, but then again, that could just be dirt? I'd definitely be wanting a vet to check that out for you. Good luck with her.

That would send me dashing to the vet TBH I hope it isn't anything serious but I would want it checked ASAP. If something came up like that on our own bodies we would be off to the GP I think so our dogs deserve the same.

It could be nothing but it could be mastitis or a mammary tumour. Either way, it needs to be seen by a vet. Keep fingers crossed for you and your dog. Let us know how you get on.

Agree with the above, you need the vet to give you a diagnosis .
