Feeding marrow bones

Hi all,

My local butcher has just given me some marrow bones for my Grey's.

My question is this, They haven't been fed raw meat on the bone from me, do I just let them have them and watch them enjoy??

Thanks

Andy

just be careful with the marrow, can cause squits, I used to scrape the marrow out. My 2 used to love them, I should get them some

my dogs dont get fed raw, but are allowed bones from the butchers, i actually found the opposite problem with them i have to take the bones away and put them back down to them the next day, as their poop goes white and crumbly

but yes you just give them the bones and they should be fine

yeah, my 2 were the same with crumbly poo but only if I scooped the soft marrow out, which is a shame as they loved the marrow bit but gave my sensitive 2 the dreaded squits

My dogs were fine with the marrow. In fact when they had eaten what they could reach they took it to one of my sons who split it with a hammer so they could get the rest.

It took Bens tummy a little while to get used to the marrow
and both of them get crumbly poo if I feed too much

but actually just now I am listning to the two of mine happily crunching down some lamb bones - Ben has a knuckle and Mia a shoulder - they will be hapy for quite a while now

That's always a good time to get out of the way unless you want a marrow bone landing on your foot - ouch.
