My new hobby!

So a while back me and hubby were out to lunch and the place has a tiny gift shop attached to it, so off I trundle to have a browse (it would be rude not too) and whilst there I got inspired!!!! Someone was making jewelry out of buttons.

So I thought - I can do that... came home and visited google, got some ideas went to a well known online store and brought supplies.. sat down and over the last few weeks I have created some lovely lovely gifts for my friends and family for C*****mas (are we allowed to use the C word yet).

I have actually surprised myself with how well they turned out.. what do you think? I have called myself Buttondog.. I mean all good hobbyists have to have a sudoname incase I need to write my life story!! I set up a little page on Etsy and am totally enjoying this little chapter.

Personally I can't wait to give something I have made, when we first moved over here to the States I wasn't able to work and so I made all birthday cards, festive season cards, painted pictures for the nephew/nieces bedrooms etc.. it was great to give something really personal to me.

So come on Dogsey peeps - what do you think *throws herself out amongst them*

Some brooches:

Some wire wrapped earrings:

Some "Charm" bracelets....

Anyone else got some interesting hobbies going on at the moment?

They look very good Debbie - and I like the idea of people making their own gifts for Christmas... it's far too commercialised these days

Good luck with your venture!

It's all looking good, and it's very unique which I like, I do hope you do well out of this I'm loving the bracelets and necklaces, but I wouldn't have the patience I'm afraid

When I first saw the ear-rings I thought, blimey, they're a bit big, and then I realised you had hung them ON those metal tubey thingies lol!

I'm not very arty crafty I'm afraid, but I'm very good with a pot of paint and a roller

Thanks both, I really enjoy making them all and the etsy thing is just a way of stopping my jewelry box from becoming a jewelry room

Phobia's are a funny thing, I have never heard of a button phobia... yeah these prob wouldn't work out for you

Thanks YoungStevie, they are unusual and they are so pretty, I hate that the photos don't really do the colours justice.... they are so lovely to wear too as they are really light unlike alot of other charm bracelets!!

Very colourful Debbie I am not really a jewellery person, what I do wear tends to be understated .

I think they would be lovely for young people though
