Insurance Question...

When you take out pet insurance you give the name of your vet etc and that's who your insurance company deal with.
What happens if say, you go away on holiday with your dog and you need another vets assistance, will the insurance company still pay out if you have to use another vet?
Thanks x

I dont see how you can confirm to her that they'll cover it. It depends what the policy wording says, and who you even went with. They usually have overseas travel cover you are able to add on, it a benifit that can usually be added at any time. Give your insurance company a ring and ask them, they will answer your question.

Pet insurance companies generally live in the real world.

they know that not all accidents etc occur in a 20 mile radius of your vet's practice.

It is the dog that is insured irrespective of the treatment received by any vet.

Of course if a dog is taken abroad then OTHER insurance in ADDITION to your current policy is required.

If I go to Scotland and my dog has an accident or illness, the insurance company does not expect me to defer treatment until I drive 6 hours back to my home vet.
