I think if Gill said she wanted a pub do then that is what should happen, most places give the room for free due to the fact money will be taken behind the bar
Got 5 bits of paper up, started at about 12.30, done round the plug and light switch so hoping it will all be easy going now...won't hold my breath Lol
Well done Griff

Lynn, why not call for the cup of tea (even drinking it outside if the weather is nice) then the rest of you go to a local pub so that you can feel that Gill got what she wanted?

I always feel that wakes are for those left behind rather than those departed so I'm sure Gill would understand xxx
Aww well done for 6 months maybe now Chris.

Thats a great idea on the funeral arrangements and as you say they are for those let behind and Gill would surely be right with you in going to the pub afterwards.

Sue hope lawn mowing goes well and Kazz how is the new addition doing and mum ?

Had a bit of a blip here Friday Peter rang to say Gill's cremation is 5th April then back to the house.
Myself, Michael and Margaret and Gorden aren't sure how we feel about going there as she died in the room we will be in and last time we saw her there she wasn't at all well.
Other brother Paul literally saw her there an hour before she died.
Plus she had told Michael she wanted a gathering similar to mums, at a pub with as many friends and family as could make it. Michael discussed this with Peter who said no problems that can be sorted now done a turn around and we feel we have let her down.
So it's been a bit of a sombre weekend. For Michael and me in particular she didn't have a particularly good married life and we are feeling it a bit after this announcement from Peter.
We will see how we feel after the service we may go back for a quick cuppa then stop on the way home for something to eat or just move straight off and stop along the way for something to eat.
Beth is going to come and fed Dillon at tea time and let him out and sit with him for a while so we are not under pressure for time.
Ordered flowers today that was hard.

Hope everyone is feeling well and all four legged friends are to.
Strange Peter agreed then chaged the plans maybe he is not thinking straight.

Cheers Kazz, i have run out of paste, got a bit above the window and a couple of strips the other side of the window.
I am absolutely worn out, i am covered and i mean covered in bruises, my arms and legs look horrific and i am sooooooo sore, just want to get it done and get back in my bed, damn near killed myself today Lol

Decorating is always such great fun

Yep, it was just a routine check-up today so all done now for six months. Unfortunately, anything out of routine knocks him off kilter and I'm usually the target of his frustration. I'm used to it, but I still could throttle him at times.

We've been trying now for over 2 years to find a place where he can still live independently in his own flat, but have 24 hour carers on hand should he fit. There is one place that is ideal, but they won't take him because they are worried about his deafness although that was said off the record, on record they say it's because they only take over 55s which is bullsh*t. We are tentatively getting into on a place in Mablethorpe, but the social worker is dragging her heels. Probably because they are also worried about his deafness and she doesn't want to tell me

Hi all - hope everyone is fine and dandy.
Lynn - bit of a poor arrangement with Peter, over the post funeral wake. Perhaps as suggested the quick visit and then off to a public house or restaurant for those who wish it, would be best. Whatever you choose, I hope the day goes well for you.
Griff - well done with the decorating - I am given to presume that the overiding colour scheme will be pink with pink trimmings and pink bits, could there also be a wee touch of fluffy pink marabou about the place.
I'm afraid both the Mem and myself had a huge chuckle about the "Hooters" restaurant, stateside. Hope though that your parents weren't too discomoded by the affair. Just hope the food was good enough to detract from the shock. Truth to tell - I think I might enjoy the place! lol !
Kazz - so good to hear that your new girl is settled in nicely - she sounds the ideal dog for you.
Weather here has been lovely the last couple of days - so saying I have hundreds of daffodils about the place but as yet not a single one has opened, hoping for a nice show over Easter weekend, fingers crossed.
Take care all and as usual, bye fer now.
