Partially dislocated kneecap - update

Well, I finally got my NHS appointment through to see the knee guy - 29th September at 13:45.

The appointment states that I may need to go to x-ray departments, plaster departments, etc (blanket letter) so, basically, be prepared to spend the whole flipping afternoon at the hospital.

I think I'll take a flask and some sandwiches........ and a book!

I'll keep you posted.

dont forget to turn up early as they hand out lots of appts for same time and then see you in order of arrival.

(you can tell who spends too much time at doctors and hospitals cant you)

Complete works of Dickens should last you

Seriously though, hope you get seen quickly - Sue's suggestion is a good one!

Trouble is, the letter already says NOT to arrive early as patients are seen in strict appointment time order.

Knowing me, I'll be early anyway.

Won't it be funny (NOT) if they put me in plaster and I can't drive home........

oh, there's a thought! Plastered - and you'd have to pay the earth for parking if you have to leave the car, I bet!

I feel a taxi ride coming on

I reckon if I've got to get in and out of a car, it may as well be mine! Thank heavens it's an automatic, and I don't actually need the gammy leg

Glad the appointments arrived. Don't know about Dickens War and Peace might be in order.
Hope it all turns out well and you can drive home.

Glad you've got the date.

A good book really helps with the wait. The last couple of times I've had to go I couldn't believe how short the wait was and I was actually a tad p*ssed off because I'd got to a really good bit in the book

Good luck with the appointment Vicki, I hope they sort out your painful problems. Dave has had loads of hospital appts. lately and he's never had to wait long, it's not like that awful A & E when you have an actual appointment, hopefully anyways. Good luck.xxx
