Emergency (vet visit last night)

Had to rush Summer to the vet last night
as she had a piece of chew stuck in her
throat and could'nt shift it,she did vomit,
but did'nt bring it up,so at 9.30 phoned vet
and took her down, where the vet x-rayed
her to see where the blockage was,and found
nothing in her gut,so put a tube down, but it
would'nt go in properly at first,so tried a second
time and this time it went all the way,so no
need to scope her, needles to say Summer
was put under, but today she is fine.just
suffering the effects of the anaesthetic.
The vet gave us a lift home this was at 11pm.
It was really scarey to see her, luckily she's
insured.
Heidi knows there is something wrong as she
has'nt attempted to play with Summer, hopefully
she will be her old self by tomorrow.

That's awful, you must have been terrified. Still the vet acted quickly and Summer is OK now. She will soon be back to her old self. Give her a cuddle for me, and Amber sends her a big sloppy KISS

Glad summer is ok and on then mend...she'll be right as rain in no time at all!!!
Bet she gave you a scare...what they put us through!

Was the chew rawhide by any chance??? I never give rawhide to my boy anymore he nearly choked on it once..but lucky he cough it all back out!
I nearly had a heart attack thinking he was gone die!!!
So no more rawhide in our house...rawhide is evil!

Yes it was a rawhide chew, and yes no more
in the house, the chew through being stuck
has inflammed Summer's tonsils so she's on
antibiotics for a while, she has played a bit
this evening, but still is suffering the effects
of the anaesthetic.
