The company they give
The unconditonal love
The way they share your highs and lows in life
The funny expressions they give you when your talking to them or about to give them a treat/something to eat

Where do I start, well... I agree with all of you. Plus they are so warm and snuggly, I feel like giving Blackie a good squeeze at times.

He makes life worth living.

Hi Azz,
where do you start?
the attention you get and give.
going for walks summer and winter, and when you get caught out by the rain, the look on there face, its so funny.
When he/she jumps into the bed first thing in the morning for kisses.
The moment you get the lead, he/she goes mental, trys to sit still but the excitment is just to much, make you feel good that he/she loves you so much!
and at night time, when you are both cuddled up on the sofa or floor, they just look so sweet, makes you feel good!!

Walks, Walks and then, oh, the walks

My main motivation fror getting a dog is as a companion for me to take advantage of the 600 + miles of public footpaths we have here; so the thing I like most is the walking

I alos love snuggling up together in the evenings; and seeing him and my daughter play is an unexpected joy.....

No matter how low I'm feeling or how upset I am, she is always there to snuggle up to.

Its got to be the unconditional love.

and being a staffy, the expressive looks you get, they have giving dirty looks down to a fine art, which I find hilarious, but cleo also has her RSPCA face which makes me melt, she is my baby.

The non-judgmental, unconditional love, no matter what you look like, how fat you are, how poor you are or what clothes you're wearing. To them you are the best thing ever.
The unshakable loyalty and trust even though they don't always understand us or our reasons for doing things
The 'it's fun time' smiley face
The 'I'm overjoyed to see you' madness when you come through the door or wake up in the morning
The irrepressible positive nature
The quick forgiveness and no grudge held if dinner is late or the walk is shorter than usual
The cheekiness that means you can't stay angry with them
Those soft eyes that you can't refuse
Companionship
The long, long walks together
The cuddles
The big fur-ball leaping on you to kiss your face when you cry

Don't forget the funny looks they give you if you say or do something odd, Blackie gives me an odd look if I am sitting beside him and I say "Oh I could kiss you" he looks at me as though I'm on the other bus and jumps of the settee, looks round at me, puffs and goes out the door!
