advice on showing

Thank you for your time.

I would like to take my puppy to some fun shows but I have no idea what will be expected of him. He is very friendly loves people and gets on well with other dogs though can be a bit timid if another dog is very boisterous, he is generally well behaved but doesnt know may commands yet he is 16 weeks old. I would be grateful if you could advise me of what to expect, I want him to enjoy himself and have some good days out and do some socialising.

(He is a Groenendale BSD)

Thanks

Congrats on your new pup! and welcome to dogsey! most companion shows wont allow puppies under 6 months old to be shown ( like official Kennel club licenced shows) have fun with your pup!

I'd take him to some fun shows, not KC registered & let him mix & watch what others do in the ring. If you have one near you a ringcraft class is good for learning & socialising as well.Although you can't enter your dog at Companion shows you can take them to watch & socialise from 4 months.
