What is this behaviour ?

Hey im kinda new, obviously. we recently got a rough collie puppy.

hes been with us for just over 2 weeks now, and he seems to be acting a little strange than before. He is now chomping as it were at your hands or towards the face on the odd occasion, he is beginning to act liek a male dog *(if you catch my drift)

he still goes at your clothes as well,

is this behaviour something i should be worried about and if so how do i strop it, this is my first time taking care of a puppy, the parent and partner arent much help atm so its down to me !

all help would be greatly appreciated !

This behaviour is called puppy mouthing and every single puppy goes thru this phase.

When he bites too hard yell 'ow', then give him a toy, such as a ragger, to play and chew with.

Teach him to play with the toy nicely

you need to go thru a process called 'bite inhibition', which is explained in this article:

http://www.jersey.net/~mountaindog/berner1/bitestop.htm

called "the bite stops here", by world famous dog trainer Ian Dunbar.
