Husky grooming advice

I was just giving kismet her weekly brush and check over and I noticed her snowshoes are getting very long...

Now selkie my Samoyed used to get balls of ice stuck in hers and nasty knots behing her palmar pad, so I kept hers trimmed as short as she would let me, kismet hates me fiddling with her feet, so trimming will be something of a fight, but do you think I need to? How bad do husky snowshoes get?

Why not do some training to get her used to her feet being handled? If you start now, she'll hopefully be happy for you to touch them by the time we get some real snow

She's not aggressive.. I'll see if I can post a video... she seems to be ticklish, she giggles and screams and goes crazy , mouths, wriggles about on her back tail wagging and yodelling... Just absolutely in hysterics!

She will give paw and other paw and let me hold or firmly massage her paws... its little ticklish movements that send her silly, or trying to clip her claws...

We noticed when out in the snow with ours that it doesn't get stuck to the Mals feet/legs at all, where as our Aussie gets clumps of snow attached to him that we then have to break up and removed before it balls on the bottom of his feet (although we now put lotion on to stop this).

Her feet should repel the snow quite nicely as they are.

just rub some vaseline/olive oil on the feathers and the snow does not cling.

It didn't cling in the snow last year, but I noticed the hair between her toes had grown through longer this year.. we haven't see a flake of snow here yet this year... wonder if we'll even get any...

Is this referring to the long hair in-between the toes?

If so, Kestral's have got really long. I wasn't sure whether I should trim them down abit..
