URGENT elderly GSD needs retirement home - SCOTTISH BORDERS

This is a plea from the heart.

Yid is a 12 year old GSD bitch who is in need of a quiet, ideally rural home, with space for a potter around and plenty of love and affection in her twilight years.

She has an eye condition that requires daily drops but doesn't give her any pain or discomfort.

Her owner is a retired farmer and he has gone into hospital and very sadly won't be coming out again.

Yid is used to living outside (although we believe she did sleep inside with her owner at night) and is a friendly, unassuming, quiet girl who is good with children, adults (including strangers) and other dogs.

I just wish I could have her myself, but we have enough dogs here already, and she would probably just be bullied by our younger dogs

It would be wonderful if she could stay in the Borders area, but we will try to arrange transport to anywhere within reasonable distance if someone feels they could offer her a loving home.

We don't have much time to play with, so if anyone is interested, or knows of anyone who may be interested please PM me asap.

oh once again how I wish I could.

But I can offer to help with transport if you do find her a home further afield (though would need to be at weekends)

Thanks Lynn and Hali.

Hali - thanks, especially for the offer of transport. I just hope we can find her somewhere, and soon

In case you don't get the email - I just sent you one suggesting you might try Tom/Shona at Arhurshiels - I know they have a soft spot for GSDs and they may be able to find her somewhere short term if not a permanent home?

Does anyone know an elderly person who has had dogs before and who would like an elderly companion to keep them company? Yid would be perfect for that.
