Glad to see your dog is on the mend. Ive just had a similar problem with my dog when I gave him a handful of dry kibble when he normally has it soaked. He's had two lots of antibiotics because he kept getting the blood (colitis). This week the vet suggested it might be due to too much stomach acid so they gave him some Maalox which is like milk of magnesia and touch wood, he seems a lot happier. Might be worth a try for your dog if it flares up again.
