3 terrible dog attacks.

Just read this:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/north_east/6591925.stm

and a friend told me of these two in Italy where he lives.

2 Rottweilers killed a 9 month old girl taking her away from his grandma arms, another small boy is fighting for life after being bitten from his own Akita.
Dawn.

It's so sad I hope the boy recovers from his ordeal, although the mental scars will remain for a lifetime

My thoughts go out to the baby's relatives

what a awfull shame ,i hope he gets over this wafull attack,i was going to ask do kids get over these attacks, when i rembered,a lady came to me last year and asked me about a boxer puppy, her mom already had one of mine, well to cut a awfull long story short her son was attacked by a collie when he was playing in his own front yard when he was 3 years old,and now they were ready for a new dog for him and they are the best of friends and she sleeps on his bed and wont leave his side.so i suppose they do get over some thing like this.

My thoughts with the babies relatives.
I think it's down to individual children, I was bitten as a child and it had zero effect on me, however, being beaten up by a 15 year old when I was about 8 had more of an effect on me.

You do get over it but it takes time, mind you mine was breed specific I was bitten by a rough collie & they were the only dogs who ever worried me. Never affected my relationship with my own GSDs or any other breeds, took several years before I could happily walk through a class of rough collies though.
