Toffee at home

Hello,

Here are some photos of Toffee , my one and half year old terrier cross. I am not sure of the crossed breeds though.

Toffee was rescued by a doctor who found it at a place where she was probably unwanted. We were just too glad to take her in.

The problem with toffee thats most worrying me is that she does not eat well at all. Eating is purely at her discretion.... I mean no schedule..and she eats almost nothing and everytime her plate is wasted almost full.

Doc gave her tonic to induce hunger... but she merely sleeps over it

Can someone help me some tips on a good and healthy food habit for Toffee?

When you give her food... Let her have it for 15-20 minutes, and then take it away till next feeding time... She'll soon catch on..

She's gorgeous..

@fudgeley

She has a variety of things... 2 boiled eggs everyday... ( thats always intersting for her)

Dog food .. ( royal canine , pedigree, etc) ..

She has rice topped with egg yolk ... she is fond of eggs...

But then she is just fond of it... once on plate .. she has two licks at it and postpones the remaining for later...

@lene

Thanks ... she is a darling... I miss her a lot when i am away from home for work...

Thanks for the tip too.... when i am away... my mother does not have the heart to take the food away... she sits beside toffee and tries to feed her somehow ... but mostly in vain...

I guess it will take little more heart for my mother to do that...

Toffee is gorgeous.

I agree with Lene - she needs to learn that if she doesn't eat her food in a reasonable space of time, then it will be taken away. It's really the only way to deal with fussy dogs, in my opinion. It's also the hardest for us humans to bear.

Hope your mum can get the strength to do it whilst you are at work......

Good luck!
