When Rocky eats grass it makes him sick afterwards.

I think dogs eat grass when they have a tummy ache..

...I understood when dogs feel ill they chew grass and use the long stems to stroak their throats to make them vomit..rather like putting your fingers down your throat in humans

Hi Jeanette perhaps Luna is actually eating it and not stroaking her throat, dogs eat grass naturally, when in the wild they would eat a whole animal like a rabbit including the stomach content...that would contain grass

I think mine eat grass simply because they like it. Especially at this time of year when it is new growth & very juicy.

PS Mini,
I find quite a few dead rabbits about, probably killed by cats, & the stomachs are always intact. The dogs won't eat the stomachs either, presumably because the bitter stomach acids make the contents unpalatable?

Jas eats grass and I think it's just because he likes it.

My two think they are cows and graze nearly every day, it doesn't seem to do them any harm, they must just like the taste.
