exactly.......how can a puppy of that age be showing dominance.....ppl just love that word dont they

it is a normal puppy reaction, obviously you dont want it to continue, start as you mean to go on, you are right in saying 'no'

Do ppl really believe that a puppy or a dog lays in its bed at night plotting to take over mankind....?? I think not!

Ohhhhh, I was just keen to get Tamino socialised. 100 people before 16 weeks. We managed 234,

Probably with a wee puppy its not dominance, just playful puppy temper. Tamino was dominant (he was very playful), but I didn't know that from his very strong nipping. He mounted other puppies quite alot and did alot of the leaning head over back thing, but only to other dogs. Thats how!

If your dog is a pet then an "ouch" and immediate end to the game/stroking is the right way to go. If,however you intend to do a dog sport where your dog is required to bite such as Schutzhund then you mustn't correct the biting but channel it towards a bite roll or puppy tug.

Pk9uk, that what we did with Tamino I haven't decided yet, but I might be doing Schutzhund with him. We'll see how the BH goes.

max was a little horror at that age always biting me and the kids and anyone really. when my mother in law came to see him for the first time she bent down to say hello to him and he jumped up and bit her nose!!!! he is six months now and never does it. i cant say when it stopped it just gradually got less and less. we used to say ouch and move away from him and kids used to approach him with hands tucked away cos any moving target and he was up for it
