Fantastic walk yesterday - so proud of my good little boy! (Gadget - staff bull X)

Ooh we had such a lovely day yesterday - it was beautiful weather, and we were in a little village in Huddersfield visiting friends. After lunch we went for a walk along the river from Slaithwaite to Marsden, and I've never seen Gadget have SOO much fun!
He was leaping into the river & fetching sticks, chasing ducks & everything! It was fab!

















I'm very proud of him because he was so well behaved with the other dogs we passed on the way - he can be quite unfriendly to other dogs sometimes so I'm used to putting him on a lead whenever we see any approaching to be on the safe side, but yesterday he was an angel! We must have passed at least 20 dogs on our long walk, and he was just friendly & waggy to every last one!



We stopped off at a pub for a mid-afternoon pint and Gadget did a bit of sunbathing to dry himself off!

On the way back (after drying off completely for hours) Gadget was particularly interested in 3 ducks on the river, and before I could stop him, took a flying leap into the middle of the river! I'm so disappointed I couldn't catch it on camera cos it was a true comedy moment - he really launched himself into the air, and the ducks were going crazy!
I think he planned it on purpose, cos it meant we couldn't go home in the car for another hour or so!

Aww thanks blue - yes he is a very clever boy! When chasing the sticks he even aimed himself downstream, to allow for where the stick would be once he reached it! Very impressive!
The river definitely gets higher marks from Gadget than that bubble machine! I think it's time for us to move out to the countryside...
