I've got a PLaystation 3!!!!!!!!!!

And it's stunning! Easily one of the nicest bits of kit I've ever owned (and I've owned lots!). It was definitely worth the wait!

It:

* Is a top-end gaming machine (thanks to it's Cell processor and RSX graphics)

* Has a 60 GB hard disk so you can download games, save your photos and videos and share them via your TV! You can also buy bigger hard disks if you like (any 'laptop' hard drive will work!)

* Has massive game disk storage (50GB!)

* Has Network/broadband connectivity.

* Has Memory card connectivity (for your digital cameras).

* Has wirless controllers which also have motion sensors!

* Has bluetooth headset compatibility.

* Can play high definition Blu Ray movies.

* Can install Linux, turning it into a desktop computer - meaning you do word processing, install Firefox etc!!!!

* Has PSP connectivity and as of firmware version 1.6 you’ll be able to access media stored on your PS3 on your PSP via a wifi hot spot!

* Has Home (social networking, PS3 style - coming soon).

* Can browse the internet with it’s own multi tab/window enabled browser.

* Can play over 1700 PS2 games and almost all PS1 games

* Some awesome PS3-exclusive games (not forgetting the smaller downloadable ‘mini’ games!)

* Built to the usual high Sony standards

* And to top it all off, has a sexy sleek design to boot!

It's much MORE than just a games machine, they've really put a lot of thought into it and the reactions I've seen from people so far have been amazing. From it's ultra realistic gameplay/graphics to all the slick features - it's the consumer product of the year for sure!

Hi Azz - So you're a happy bunny now!! I accept that games are a big thing but what's the real advantage to people who have a half decent PC & don't want to play games?? There are a few of us around you know

lol... when I'm quiet you'll know what I'm up to *grin*.

lol @ PS3 Widow Anne, bet there will be a lot of them now!

Cheers Stormey, I'm sure I will

Stamford, it's brill value when you add up all it's got/can do, but I appreciate it's quite an outlay to begin with. One things sure tho, it will come down in price as they make and sell more

Sal - My nephew is a Sonic nutt! He can't wait to get it!

Luz - hey I'm allowed a break lol (but yeah, don't expect to see me for a while!)

Fudgeley - my 6 year old nephew wants a Wii for his birthday... hopefully his mum will get him one... then I can have a go too lol

Ian - it's pure class, you gotta check it out for yourself. I was lucky enough to be invited to a Sony event a little while back and although I loved it then, I love it even more now I've been able to have a go without distractions

Losos - To begin with it will mainly be marketed at gamers- I think Sony will push the 'other' strengths of the PS3 once it's got a decent userbase in its core market. They're already spending loads on all sorts. For eg, it can run Linux, and one of the programs running an optimised version (for it's cell) is said to run 80% faster than on a high end intel chip! I've been crying out for a machine like the PS3 for god knows how long, and I'm soooo glad we finally have one!

So come you lot, jump in - it don't matter if most of you are girls - lol I saw this vid of an ol granny playing the other day.. will post it in the entertainment section in a mo - it's really fuuny!

*Extremely happy Azz, goes back to play on the PS3* lol
