GSD bitch "bagging" up. (phantom pregnancy / lactating)

shehad a season begining of April, and after just been swimming noticed that shes bagging up a bit. Anyone else have thsi problem after a season (been trying to get her spayed for last 2 years!) Lady at Hydro said i need to get something from vets.

not sure what bagging up means do you mean producing milk ?

yes sorry!!!
her teats are only a little bit hard and not that swollen but she is producing milk!

then ita a phantom unless she has been mated ....treat her as normal and it will soon pass unless you feel she is unwell the vet can't do a lot her milk will soon go on its own

shes not been mated. basil is castrated. when does the milk show if had have been mated?!and do the mammary glands get quite big??

they can do with a phantom pregnancy if you are certain she hasn't been mated then it will go on its own

hi the vet can give you some medication called galastop to get rid of the milk once it has gone(which usually takes 7 to 10days) you can get her spayed

Thanks, am taking her to the vet tomorrow. She cant be spayed till shes better. Been tryingto get it done for nearly 2 years. Her heart op came not long after a season then i had to get her hips done next so got told to leave spaying till after that. shes not well enought right now to be spayed but as soon as weve got to bottom of why she has muscle wastage then once shes fot will get hr spayed, hopefully before her next season!!!!! Its the only thing about a bitch i hate and thats seasons. Puppy is getting spayed before its first season!!!!!!!!!!

poor girl sounds like she has had a rough life,hope you get her sorted sound,if i ever get a bit i would neuter b4 first season too
