Brags and Photos

Lets see your doglets piccies, and brag away, whether for being placed, or making a break through in socialisation helped by the relaxed atmosphere of a Companion show, or your dog getting the hang of things perhaps for more formal showing later on, we want to hear about it

I`ll start it off with a pic of Fluke at a small Dogathon fundraiser for Headway last year

Equal First place in class for Dog With Most Character

What a pair of sweeties, thanks for sharing

Thats another thing about Companion shows, [ you just gave a nice reminder there ], there are sometimes Obedience classes too which can be entered on the day, it all adds to the fun

One I went to years ago had an Obedience competition and the group I watched, [ can`t remember which level but they certainly were`nt `beginners` ], was won by a mile by a darling little deaf JRT, proving that just like agility, to do well a dog does`nt have to be able to hear, and does`nt have to be a pesky smart alec Border Collie :smt081

A very old brag - but in our first year that we started showing and having only done a couple of shows - still very much the novice! We entered our village fete - Maxy won his Junior class beating some lovely youngsters and then took beat the other class winners to take TOP DOG IN ASHINGTON!

We even got a trophy which still has pride of place in our cabinet.

We did a few companion shows in 2005 (for practice) and he did quite well too at the Steyning Fete - taking Best Condition, 2nd in AV Sporting - but lost the pics from there.

Sorry if the pic is so small due to loss of piccies the copy I had from someone was v. small! Glad its quite small as I would have to apologise for my facial expression (I was concentrating on stacking him)

To everyone who has been posting show dates for us all, thank you so much for letting us know of the shows we would`nt get to hear about without you :smt058

Heck, absolutely they count, yes

The section is not just for KC affiliated Companion shows but all fun shows of that type, charity shows, any shows with the sort of classes, [ and more ] included under affiliated shows.
Some of the unaffilliated shows have some great novelty classes, [ like Irish brace, for pairs of dogs which look least alike or are opposites - got a Third in one once, pairing my tall white collie with an all black pint sized version of him, and another with him again paired with a tiny Pap, a right minimee type pairing they looked lol ].

Some of the entries in Best Trick are awesome, they take some winning so you must have been thrilled to bit with that result :smt038 :smt038
Junior handling at these sort of shows are a terrific way for youngsters to learn the ropes, I bet you were very proud that day

Awwwwww thanks you two...I think we have a pic of the winning boys somewhere with their rosettes...you always know Mo will do well in waggiest tail, despite it being one of the most popular classes, this is the boy who wagged his tail whenever I said his name all the way through his stroke. Bless him.
Thanks guys...will try to find that pic....
