Should I take him to the vet for vomiting?

We went on a long walk on the Sunday just took two of the three dogs. We didnt see them pick anything up and they swam in the river at one point.
That evening one off them was sick 8 times in three hours.
He stopped about 10pm and was fine after that. And has been sick since,
The other dog that was on the walk started the Tues morning and has now been sick 10 times over the last three days.
Ive no idea what caused it but it appears something on the walk has. My other dog who didnt come is fine.
So as the first dog is now ok do i need to take the second to vet? As he has had so many skin problems in the past he really hates going.

I suspect it was the water. Sometimes, if the lake is still, the sun has been belting down on it all summer, it gets stagnant and nasty, and I did hear that we have some very suspect algae (sp?) about in some places, so it could be that too?

I got the same when I took my dog swimming in the sea, she got diarrhea instead of the vomiting, but my own vet said that everytime she had taken her dogs swimming they always got sick or had diarrhea and it would soon pass.

I can't advise you as to whether you should go, but ab's would definitely sort it out a lot quicker for your dogs. If you think they're fine in themselves, then you can risk them just getting over it, but if they look and act sick, then the vet would be my first port of call. Good luck with them, I hope it all clears up quickly for the 2nd dog.

Could be SCI so I would give the vet a ring to see if it is in your area.

Ok so now dog number three who wasn't on the walk is been sick. The first two have stopped. Is this just a bug? There's no sci reported in out area.

I would call your vet as they may have seen other dogs that have the symptoms of SCI.

If the one that didn't go on the walk is now unwell, then it's Vet time. Something is passing around, and even if it's just co-incidence, the other dogs' symptoms continuing would be worrying me already.
