Garlic and fleas - does anyone use garlic as a deterrent for fleas?

Does anyone use garlic tablets as a deterrent for fleas? I have frontlined Harvey 3 times since November and he's still scratching despite buying spray for round the house and washing his bedding etc. I have heard that garlic tablets are supposed to work, does anyone use them?

I give Loki garlic with his evening meal and to date, he's never had a flea, even though we've never used any flea powder or anything. He's 16 months. I keep adding it in the hope that it is the garlic that is helping keep them at bay.

Hiya, I use fresh garlic with mine and I have (so far, touch wood) never had a flea problem - but you have to be very careful how much you use as too much can do more harm than good, I also know of someone who's dog was allergic to it

I would take a trip to the vet I think - as Inca says, it could be something else

I took him to the vet to be micochipped last month and asked the vet to check him over. He looked in his ears for mites etc but nothing obvious. He's not scratching as much as he was so think I'll give the garlic a go.

I'm allergic to Persil, so are two of our children. I always use a non-bio washing powder on the dogs bedding.
