First Time Breeding - Lhasa Apso

Hey, well first off all, I'm new

Soon, we will be breeding our Lhasa Apso, for the first time.
I was hoping that someone could give us some tips.
What kind of whelping box should we get? Any hints on when to start feeding the puppies on puppy food and what not?

Any sort of help is appreciated. Thanks!

Hello

As a first time breeder you will find "The Book of the Bitch" by J.M. Evans & Kay White invaluable. I would strongly recommend that you purchase & read this book prior to having your bitch mated.

You will also find some useful articles on this site: http://www.lhasa-apso.org/articles/articles.htm

These sites are also recommended: http://www.geocities.com/bluegracepw...lbreeding.html
http://www.bluegrace.com/vb_2.html

Also, the breeder of your bitch should be a good source of information.

my uncle used to be a dog breeder so i know some things already anyway

but he died last year so he isnt around to help out

the owner of the stud dog said that they will definitely help but just in case, we want to know about when the puppies are actually born.

before the mating, we're all up to scratch!
