Will you stay with them SB?
Have you claimed whilst with them?.....morethan have been great the few times I claimed over lots of years but you read so much about how much of a bad time some people have when they claim.
I dont know why I didnt think of it before, but I woke in the middle of the night thinking "I know, I'll google reviews for morethan!!" I know theyve been ok with me so when I saw some bad reviews it kind of put things into perspective......in that they were as bad as Barclay's bad reviews, so I might just go with Barclays. Its seems to be good cover and I've chosen to "build it myself" so I get what I want. Hopefully I've got everything covered (pun intended!!!) for £258.07 .
You never know, when I ring to cancel, morethan might reduce it's price....but methinks not by over £200.!

Fingers crossed everyone and thanks for your input peoples, as usual I turn to Dogsey for help and there it is. x

My mum paid into Barclays home insurance for almost 25 years without a claim. Her buildings was with Barclays and her contents with LV=.

We had a water pipe burst in the attic and the bathroom and kitchen got flooded. My mum, being ridiculously honest, asked Barclays to send over a rep to help her decide what to claim. They said they would only pay out to redecorate the ceilings and floors I was appalled, the walls were wrecked and the kitchen cabinets were warped. I wouldn't settle and I pushed. In the end they agreed to pay out for the walls and a new fitted kitchen too (of course my mum felt bad and picked the cheapest cabinets in the shop!!!)

LV= on the other hands were fantastic. The claims department took her through everything, didn't make her feel guilty for claiming and encouraged her to claim for everything - even things like oven gloves and tea towels!!!

When mum's renewal came through, Barclays tripled her premiums She switched everything to LV=. I have stuck with LV=, we recently had to go through a potential subsidence claim ( luckily it wasn't!) and again the claims department was very good and got a specialist out to us ASAP. The only idiot I spoke to at LV= was in the sales department, the claims and bereavement department having been utterly fantastic. I would recommend them
