At the seminar we saw some interesting footage of what was at first considered to be phobia but was actually partial seizures.

We may be barking up the wrong tree but I guess how far you take it depends on if you are insured or not.

If you are, have you considered asking for a referral to a specialist?

sounds very stressful for you. I agree with the others, nag the vet for more. I don't have any personal experience of seizures (apart from my old gwp having one when oh was working him and vet put it down to low blood sugar) but friends who do, have never had to have their dog at the vet while it was happening to be diagnosed.

Hope the appointment goes well tomorrow.

Helen

Fortunately, he is insured with Pet Plan, has been all his life so has no exclusions. My vets deal directly with Pet Plan too so thats a bonus.

TBH, I hadnt considered much about it but i'll be insisting on further investigations tomorrow.

Not close enough IMO to worry about. You only have two in one month, 8 days apart. The others are sporadic.

Please do not panic at this stage. Have a look at the link SB just posted about partial seizures. If Flynn is suffering from those then they I definitely would not be concerned - I ignore them with Pereg these days. They happen but are gone so soon, and if a person did not know they would not even realise something was not quite right.

She did once have a complex partial/psychomotor seizure which lasted for over three hours which was terrifying and frightening for me, but it gradually eased off once it had run its course. But just the once.

Sorry to hear about Flynn, Leanne. He is really putting you through the mill at the moment isn't he?

It sounds like seeing a specialist is definitely the best way forward for you both.

I haven't read everyone's responces but have you considered the possibilty of Exercise Induced Collapse? as far as I am aware the behaviour of dogs affected with EIC during an 'episode' can vary; by that I mean they do not always collapse as such. It just seems a bit telling that this only happens to Flynn during exercise.
