Veterans day

Today is veterans day in the UK. Its ment to be a day celebrating people who have served in the armed forces and a way of raising awareness of the issuses they face. Personally I think its about time they had a day like this. I just hope its giving alot of media coverage.

I had no idea of this Phill. We don't laud our veterans enough.

Yes, they need all the coverage they can get....

I watched the programme on the " THE LAST DAM BUSTER" the other night...

What a fabulous old gentleman, and to think the bravery these people showed is just incredible....remember most of these airmen where in the late teens early twenties

I will tip my hat to them all!!!

My grandfather was in a parade in Glasgow City Centre today for Veterans Day. He said he felt like a celebrity due to the amount of people there who were cheering and clapping for them.

Saw a lot of it on the London news - the Vets were being given free travel in London.

I was glad to see a fuss being made of them, long may it continue.

Oooer, does that mean my OH is now a veteran?

After getting him through his 40th birthday this might just tip him over the edge! lol

Least he could wear his medals

He's told me of the things he saw in war, so we definitely need to remember what a good job the armed forces do.

Well I can't comment on BBC / ITV but while having my breakfast this morning Sky News had nothing, their 'top' story was all about some lunatic in Africa, can you believe that

It must be clear to people now why I'm so anti media. I will have another look this evening just to see if they've woken up but sad to say Phil I don't see them giving it much prominance.

What was the coverage on BBC / ITV like

I don't even think there was anything on the local, Scottish news about the march in Glasgow, though I could be wrong, and the news centre is based in Glasgow.
