Anyone heard of swimmers tail?

Toro hurt her back, oh, months ago now, did a funny twist when she jumped for her ball, then ended up in agony, wouldn't come near us cause she thought we were hurting her, wouldn't go in her crate because she thought the crate was hurting her, the vet gave her pain killers and diazipam, the diazipam made her look like she had shark eyes and made her go nutz.....any way, she has had pain now and then...
while going through some bullie stuff, I came across some one who said her bullie had swimmers tail...same symptoms as Toro....do you think its her back ? or swimmers tail ?

Thanks x

Yes ST is very common, often called dead tail, broken tail, it will wear off after a few days. Very common in some dogs that swim.

However it sounds as though your dog has something a lot more serious. Have you had an MRI scan, this can identify if there is something that an x ray cannot pick up!

Hope everything is ok with your little one

I took roxie to the vets a couple of weeks ago cause her tail was just hanging there, no wags at all and of course the first thing you think of is broken tail/nerve damage/spinal damage and because she really plays rough with her best freind (an english pointer) it wasnt out of the question.

Vet said she thought it was swimmers tail and that it should be back to normal in a few days, which it was!

Toros does sound like she hurt her back Fingers crossed for everything inkliveeva
