Thanks everyone, I am glad you agree and it isn't just me!

The irony is I did ask her advice on what to get him as he gets so many presents from people that I didn't want to duplicate! It was her suggestion to buy spirograph and I told her I would so really speaking she should have said to people not to get it as I was! As for the other one she said had been used, frankly I don't believe her as I checked the present myself before wrapping and I certainly never noticed the crayons had been used & I'm sure I would have noticed if they had.

I fully intend to just give vouchers this year but it is a shame as part of the fun of giving gifts is to shop for them but this has left a sour taste - it isn't the first time she has asked to change something either

I would have thought even if he did get something else similar, as a kid, you can never have to much to colour in and draw with so what's the problem? I would have been a bit fed up if I were you aswell.
