Wainwright's Salmon and Potato. It's changed

Anyone else notices that Wainwrights Salmon and Potato (Adult) is different?
I bought some recently and the kibble size is smaller. It is now pea sized. And the the kibble have a greasier feel to them.
I returned the bag to Pets at Home assuming they had accidentally filled it with puppy food…but no! All the bags had smaller kibble!

Hello Tango I don't use it myself but am aware companies change the content of food without notifying the consumer.
Have you got an old bag with the content on so you can make a comparison.

I would email the customer services department
and ask if there has been a recent change in the content and express your concerns. The staff in shops are not always well informed.

Hi there.
Yes I called their phoneline before going to the store and they said the food had not changed and if it had they have to state it on the pack.
I called the same number 30 mins ago and they are escalating it further!
Turns out they have a fixed size for their kibble...
Puppy Kibble 8x5 mm (pea size)
Adult 13x7mm flatter

The kibble in the adult packets are 8x5mm!

.. Companies do not always admit to changes in products. Some years ago a batch of dog food arrived which had a horrible smell and had the appearance of being darker and burnt.
The company denied all knowledge of any change and I said I would send a sample of the old product to prove it but they said that wouldn't be necessary .

They sent a replacement which was just as bad so I stopped using the food.

Yes, the changes of season can change the appearance of the food and the manufacturers often have to source their food from elsewhere.

What concerns me is that Wainwrights are feeding our adult dogs puppy food..who would know?

I wouldn't have that TC. I wouldn't feed my adults on puppy food, especially the 16 year old, as the protein content in puppy food would be much too high.
In some brands the adult protein is around 18 - 20% but can jump to 30 - 32% in some brands, for the puppies while they are growing so fast.
Have a look on the bag and see what it says.
If I wasn't sure - I wouldn't feed it.

…the point is the bag states 'adult food'. The kibble are smaller than previous. Wainwright's puppy food is a smaller kibble than the adult food!

Not sure what is going on. They are supposed to call me back!
